I find a "braced" AR pistol or SP5k or CZ EVO or any number of other offerings to be just as discreet but better performing than my Gen1 Sub2K. Pistol "braces" have kind of relegated the Sub2K into novelty status. Honestly, it is a clever design (like much of Kel-Tec) but mine has found itself in the back of the safe. For a while, it rode around in my car with me in a non-descript, soft-side briefcase, that I could take anywhere without drawing attention to myself, along with six G18 mags which (of course) also fit my CC G19. He didn't like the sights either and the difficulty of mounting a red-dot (not a problem with the Gen2) I replaced the recoil spring assembly ($13 from Kel-Tec) and it has run flawless for me ever since. He figured he had ~5,000 rounds through it (which is nothing for a serious competitor) before it started to hiccup. I have a Gen1 sub2K that I purchased for next to nothing from a guy who ran 3-gun with it.
